Mapping Soham Stories - ‘What Matters to Me’

Fullscope are working in partnership with East Cambridgeshire Integrated Neighbourhood to learn about what matters to young children and their communities.
The Integrated Neighbourhood Team in East Cambs are exploring how to develop a neighbourhood approach to promote and protect the health and wellbeing of children, young people and families. They have invited Fullscope to support this process with a particular focus.
Policy makers understand that children and young people need to be part of co-producing the systems that support them, yet primary school-aged children and those who care for them are so often excluded from these processes. Mapping Soham Stories will start to address this. During the 2025 Spring term, Fullscope – working with Cambridge artist Hilary Cox Condron - will meet with the communities connected to the three local primary schools to gather ideas. We will invite people to share stories about the qualities, people and spaces in their lives that matter most to them and then together create maps of these. The children will also be writing prescriptions for ways to be well.
Community Event
We will be sharing these stories at a drop-in event at Soham library on May 1st between 2pm – 6pm. This will be a chance for people of all ages to come together and hear stories of children and members of their community about 'what matters to them'.
Explore new maps, prescriptions and stories created by primary school children in Soham.
Celebrate their brilliant imaginations.
Amplify & Influence
This project will support Fullscope’s further development of our framework for involving children, young people and their families, exploring how we can listen better to younger voices, and involve them in system development and decisions through co-production.
